Family Guy - Did It Go Too Far?
While watching “Family Guy” with my husband and son last night, I became totally sickened at what I was seeing. The episode was titled “The Juice Is Loose”, which to my surprise, was about O.J. Simpson.
It was appalling that he was being glorified, so to speak, by Peter and eventually accepted into their little town of Quahog. The references and re-enactment of the murders of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman were in such poor taste. I know “Family Guy” pushes the envelope to the extreme, but usually it is funny, like I said, this was just appalling.
To make a joke out of two innocent lives that were brutally taken is just a disgrace. This was not a movie, this was real life. Only two other times, have I been appalled with “Family Guy” for making lewd comments; first, there was one about John F. Kennedy, Jr. flying a plane and the other was about Jon Bonet Ramsey, two lives tragically taken.
Personally, there is no excuse to make a joke of any kind about innocent lives that were tragically lost. Next Sunday night, I will just have to find something else to watch.
